What F62 means on a GE range
The F62 error code on a GE range indicates that the EOC-Display Board is not receiving the 60Hz zero-cross synchronization signal it expects from the EOC-Relay Board. This zero-cross signal is a timing reference derived from the AC power line. The relay board detects each point where the AC voltage crosses zero volts and transmits that timing pulse to the display board via connector J2 pin 5 on the relay board side and connector P2 pin 5 on the display board side. The display board uses this signal to coordinate output timing, particularly for controlling surface or oven heating elements with precision.
When this synchronization signal is absent, the display board cannot properly time its control outputs and throws the F62 fault to alert the technician. The most common entry point for diagnosis is the wiring harness connection between those two specific pins. A loose, corroded, or damaged connector at J2 pin 5 or P2 pin 5 will interrupt the signal path just as effectively as a failed component. Continuity testing across that circuit is the required first step before condemning either board.
